After a string of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Space Key, developed in collaboration with a non-disclosed artist, and based on cutting-edge carbon fiber composite materials that were sent to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project which was announced by Lamborghini.

Lamborghini, the Italian supercar manufacturer is making its first step into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The latest project, dubbed the Space Key, is a work that was created in collaboration with an unknown artist. The NFT is an exclusive piece of digital art that can be accessible via the use of a QR code. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned in the coming weeks.

Created in collaboration with an unknown artist and artist, the NFT is a collector's item that will be auctioned off in just a couple of weeks. The core of the NFT is a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 as part a research project. Carbon fiber was 3D-printed for the base of every Space Key. Each Space Key is linked to an exclusive, digital artwork by way of an QR code. Only five Space Keys were produced.
